(A Short Film)When an important pigeon race and a rare visit home
by his son Martin coincide, Charlie waits anxiously for a safe journey home. The Journey BeginsThe journey of ‘Wait’ began in a Parisian bar when, after one fatal beer too many, award winning DOP Paddy Jordan asked me if I'd had any short script I’d like filmed. I sent him the script that night! Meanwhile, when looking for someone to produce it, a friend gave me the name of Lyndzi Doyle. By sheer coincidence, it turned out she is from a family of avid pigeon racers. She came on board.
Over the next number of months we assembled a multi-award winning crew including editor Eamonn Cleary, costume designer Belle Phippes, Art Director Mars O’Reilly, Hair and Make-up Nina Ayoub and IFTA winning composer Niall Byrne. We were then lucky enough to get our dream cast, actors Owen Roe (Vikings, Penny Dreadful) and Rory Keenan (The Guard, War & Peace). We shot for 2 days in Bray and one evening in Sarsfields Sport and Pigeon racing club, Ballyfermot. Post production was done by Philippe Faujas on sound design, Killian FitzGerald at Avatar Post and John Talbot and Panic Post Production. |
